Curious About Good Relocation Web Resources
Was wondering what folks use to research a place they are unfamiliar with that they may potentially move to. Something like city-data.com (which is ok, but sometimes those forums border too much on editorials).
Specifically, I want to research true cost-of-living, school systems (I don't have kids, but a blue ribbon school system=safe neighborhood), average rents, etc. City-data seems to be ok for all of that, but I'm wondering if you guys use anything more than that.

We ended up using a referral from one of my collegues that was also relocated to the area. Sorry that I can't be of more help.

ACCRA Cost Of Living Index - Seems to cost money, but you don't need to pull your hair out either to piece everything together (check the sample report).
I checked Payscale.com for NY & LA a few weeks ago regarding another thread but that didn't seem to match up with what people were posting - people were saying they were getting six figures in Manhattan but Payscale was giving a figure of 80K when I maxed everything, so something doesn't seem right. Trulia.com gives you school info & housing cost heat map at the top (Local info).
