Vcp5-dt

Decided to take a slight detour from VCAP5-DCD to knock out VCP5-DT. Plan is to spend May and maybe June to learn, study & lab VMware View and take the exam.

    Finished watching all the videos (CBT & Trainsignal), read all the documents listed in the blue print and labbed for a while. Exam's scheduled for Thursday. Spending the next 2 days writing down config min/max, req. ports, req. permissions, etc.

    Passed it this morning. Overall I thought it was easy. Easier than VCP5. Maybe its because I've taken DCD exam a few times. It seemed like most of the questions were from the admin guide and install guide. There were also few questions that made me go, "Huh?"

    On to Citrix, I think.

    VMware changed their notification policy from 14 business day to 30 days.

    Awesome stuff. Congrats! Are you working/have you worked on a DT virtualization project?

    Thanks everyone.

    @QHalo

    I'm moving to an environment with VDI deployment, so I learned it in preparation.

    No Citrix. I'll be learning vCould & vHorizon. On a sad note, wife told me we won't celebrate this cert with our usual dining out. She feels I achieved this cert to easily. icon_sad.gif

    Got my VCP5-DT number this morning. 1768. I've heard VMware jumped the numbering to 1000 range for people w/out VCP4-DT. Much less DT around vs. DV. Little annoying that you only get 1 year workstation license with VCP only. icon_sad.gif

    You only get a sticker for VCAP5's. VCAP4's came with a hat (cap).
