Port Security

Hi All,

If a port has went into Restrict or Protect Mode due to Port Security, are broadcasts sent out to the port still? I know frames from the unknown/violating source mac are dropped if trying to send out the port, but what happens to frames sent into that port from say a broadcast. Is it processed by the host, as technically the port is still up.

Cheers

If a port is in a Restrict or Protect state, the host(s) connected to that port that don't meet the port-security parameters will still receive multicast and broadcast packets.
