in CCNA & CCENT
Hi All,
I am working on my CCNA lab and ran into a small confusing issue.
i bought 2x 1721 which have a serial int and a fastethernet int so total 2 int along with a T1 , console, AUX .
The problem is i dont know how can i connect the two, or where should i plug the crossover to connect the 2nd routers when i have the F0/0 on the router plugged to the Switch.
I attached a picture for the device.

spd3432 Member Posts: 224You can either crimp your own T1 crossover cable or purchase pre-made T1 crossover cables (looks like you can get them for as low at $6 on Amazon). Much cheaper than spending $40 per WIC.

You can get the cards off ebay. Be mindful that there may be counterfeit cards out there, the reason I posted the link.

Just following up on this. What did you decide to do - T1 crossover cables or buy new WICs?
I spent about half an hour today and crimped 2 T1 crossover cables (cross 1 with 4 and 2 with 5 -- leave the remainder straight-thru) and linked a pair of 1721s together as a test. If they weren't so noisy, I'd grab one of my 2620s from the garage and set up frame relay.----CCNP goal----

Ethernet to Ethernet using crossover
Ethernet to Ethernet over broadcast network (the switch)
T1 to T1 using custom cable
Or simply (and probably a better solution) get 2 WIC-1T or WIC-2T and cables so you can practice serial connectionsCurrent: VCAP-DCA/DCD, VCP-DCV2/3/4/5, VCP-NV 6 - CCNP, CCNA Security - MCSE: Server Infrastructure 2012 - ITIL v3 - A+ - Security+
