Standard links vs engineered links
Jasiono
I've been creating a chart with cable lengths for all of my cable types (i.e. 10GBaseLR, etc.) and I notice that the website I'm on has lengths for engineered and standard links.
Like 10GBaseER has a reach of 40km over engineered links and 30km over standard links.
I assume network+ will ask for standard, correct?
Whats the difference between the two?

I think engineering charts will take into account things like the 10meter buffer for panels and what not where as Comptia doesnt necessarily care unless its a troubleshooting question.
