Hello,
I read lot of topics whitout being register.
All your feedback have been a good source for me.
So I worked with Darril Gibson book, this book was very easy to read and understand even if you have a low english level (like me).
I practice some web test and after 1 month and half I passed my test last friday.
I get 872 and did some error because of my bad translate like "eavesdropping" .. but result was not so bad.
About me: I work in security it for last 4 years with some security tool and I joinning a international company who I could work with lot of security principe every day.
Next one? I bought two books about CEH:
Official Certified Ethical Hacker Review Guide: For Version 7.1 (ISBN-10: 1133282911 | ISBN-13: 978-1133282914)
CEH Certified Ethical Hacker All-in-One Exam Guide (ISBN-10: 0071772294 | ISBN-13: 978-0071772297)
I will try to work harder to pass "new" CEH v8. I have no idea if it will be harder, if you have some feedback you are welcome.
I saw that new CEH have less questions 125 now.

Is the CEH or any E-council exam worth it? I see too much unbiased views online about it. What's your take?
Darril
albink,
Congratulations on the pass and good to hear the book helped.
Good luck with the CEH
jdubb45,
You might like to browse the EC-Council CEH and CHFI forums on this site or repost your question there. Here's the link:

Congrats on the Pass

Congrats on the pass!. The CEH is known my employers but by no means will this certification teach someone how to perform a pentest (I don't know if thats your goal or not?). The CEH will give a decent overview of security tools and hacking concepts.
