Frame Relay

Hi all.
I have a query about Frame relay.
CBT shows mapping an IP to the interface for frame relay, where the IP is the one you trying to Reach
Now I'm using packet tracer for everything, so have used a tutorial for frame relay config: 3 routers, each has a sub interface on s0/0/0 as a point to point link (mesh topology)
The YouTube tutorial I followed shows assigning a local IP to the sub interface with /30 mask
Cisco's ICND2 requirement says
"configure and verify frame relay on Cisco routers"
In Cisco Press book, Wendell says its an optional setting when using ANSI LMI type
What is the correct config method?
I understand the theory and concept behind, so that's not an issue
Thanks

Stupid moment, confusing multi point and point to point frame relay set ups!
