When a succesor fails and a FS is found in the TP i have read no recalculation occurs.Since the metric of the new successor can be different than the previous successor will updates be sent to nofify neighbours of the change in metric and does this not cause a recalculation?

This is just confusing for me as i have read a metric change will cause a recalculation and on the other hand a changing of successor doesnt!!
Networking, sometimes i love it, mostly i hate it.Its all about the $$$$

All the networks in the topology table already have the metrics calculated so a recalculation is unnecessary, however an update should be sent to neighbors with the metric change.

What you have read before is when an existing route has a change in BW or delay a recalculation is done immediately which makes sense as the path has become more or less attractive.
