ok, so what exactly is the differrence b/w NAT and a web proxy?

lordy Member Posts: 632 ■■■■□□□□□□NAT applies to all outgoing connections (HTTP, SMTP, POP3, etc.) and works on OSI Layer 3.
A classical web proxy only applies to HTTP connections and works on OSI Layer 7.

pretty_boy Inactive Imported Users Posts: 55 ■■□□□□□□□□Think of A Proxy as Securtiy verison of NAT. A Proxy is a Application firewall. NAT is just used for connectivity, if i remeber correctly.
