Our corporate office just got on board with this training company. I was just wondering if anyone else had gone through them for courses? I just received which courses they're offering and it looks pretty good. I was hoping someone else on here had been to one of their facilities and have a review.

foofighters Member Posts: 42 ■■□□□□□□□□They have some good offerings. I attend some GK courses because my company pays for them. I wouldn't pay for them myself. I really liked the TUC (Troubleshooting Unified Communications I think, for CCNP Voice) course.

blargoe Member Posts: 4,174 ■■■■■■■■■□I have been to GK about a half dozen times for MS and VMware training and it has always been top notch. I think they require a minimum score on the course evals to remain as an instructor. Everyone that has ever taught a class that I have attended was only instructing at GK on the side and did consulting work, instead of people who pass the CCNA so they can teach a class, like you see at other companies.IT guy since 12/00
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands... -

DexterPark Member Posts: 121I took a CIPT1 class and found it to be very informative, and the labs were fun. On the downside, the 1 week courses they teach should be taught in 2 weeks with all the information they throw at you. The Instructor went through the course so quick that by day 3 everyone looked like they had down syndrome.....My advice to anyone looking to advance their career would be to learn DevOps tools and methodologies. Learn how to write code in languages like Python and JavaScript. Not to be a programmer, but a network automation specialist who can do the job of 10 engineers in 1/3 of the time. Create a GitHub account, download PyCharm, play with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Automation isn't the future, it's here today and the landscape is changing dramatically.

Looking at this this as it comes under the $3k budget I need to spend by year end or miss out. Other than boring was it enough information to pass?
