Which IOS to use with CUCM 7

I'm about to try to set up CUCM on an old PC I've been given, it's pretty old so hopefully it'll install ok. VMware installed ok.

Seeing as CUCM does pretty much all the work, can I use any image on the router or does it have to be a voice one? I've got IP Plus set up on my 2620 and was wondering if I could use that with CUCM, and set up a WAN link to my CME network.

You'll need an IOS that supports MGCP, so ipvoice, advipservices or adventerprise should do it. I usually try to stick to 12.4T as a minimum. Not sure is a stock 2620 will do, you are likely to need a 2600xm series or you can run it in GNS3, though you wont have much in the way of connectivity.

Do you think it will work with an earlier version of IP voice? Memory restrictions and I've spent too much money already.

Just booted up CUCM v8.6, it supports the 2600 (non-xm) series. Can't say for v7, but being an older version you should be safe.
