IBM 32U RS6000 Server Rack / Server Cabinet w/ Shelf Rails/ PDU-6 Available!! | eBay
Do you think Cisco switches and routers will fit into it? I can pick this item up and made a local offer to see if he would knock off some money if I came with cash for pickup.
Ive never bought a rack so I'm sorry about the stupid question

The only problem with using a server rack exclusively for network gear is that the server racks tend to be excessively deep (and end up taking up a ton more space).CCNP:Collaboration, CCNP:R&S, CCNA:S, CCNA:V, CCNA, CCENT

BTW - I think most people on TE use Skeletek racks instead of cabinets for home labs. It's probably about the same price - http://www.dantraknet.com/
I'm pretty happy with mine. -
Jasiono Member Posts: 896 ■■■■□□□□□□It's between that and the 12u from skeletek. I love the idea of having it closed up, I think it looks nicer.
I sent dank a message on eBay to see if he could swap out the router mounting brackets that come with the auction for switch ones. If he says yes I'll swing toward his auction. -

BTW - You may want to ask the eBay seller if that cabinet uses EIA square holes. I couldn't tell from the picture. -

Jasiono Member Posts: 896 ■■■■□□□□□□Round holes. I'm going with skeletek. The guy on eBay seems like a real dick.
16u is only 10 bucks more. -
inscom.brigade Member Posts: 400 ■■■□□□□□□□That is beautiful, but after all of my recent moving I am favoring this style of mobility for a lab rack.
i am thinking of selling mine for one of these!

+1 on this. Skeletek is a very good brand. Their racks are awesome and very sturdy. You won't be disappointed. I'm thinking of getting another 16u before the end of the year.2017 Certification Goals:
