Serial Ports/DB Connectors?
Are serial ports and DB connectors the same thing? If not what are the differences? Thanks!

paige1 Member Posts: 117DB Connectors come in 9, 15, 25 and 50 pin sizes. They are connectors and the DB 9 connector is commonly used for the 1st serial port (COM1) or serial mouse port. A DB 25 Connector is often used for printers or external modems.
In short DB connectors connect to serial ports.Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings.

I'll just add that the 'D' of the DB is easy to recall because the connector is the shape of a D. Usually will be 2 rows of pins. And when you have an HDB the 'H' is for High and adds the third row (like the video connector ).
