Studying materials for SY0-301....does that sound right?

So I am a little confused here....

Shows Exam # SY0-301
CompTIA Security+ Certification

However I am lead to believe that exam # SY0-201 is still in existence.

So am I trying to figure out what materials to gather and which exam is current/what people are taking the most. From what I have gather it seems Darril's book is a given. However, I seem to retain info better say by videos and what not. The videos I did find look like they are from 2010. So I am not quite sure how the 201 vs 301 differs and if watching videos from 2010 will help me pass for material in new test this year. Does that make sense?

You might like to check out this blog that lists differences between SY0-201 and SY0-301: Security+ SY0-201 and SY0-301 Differences. The SY0-201 version hasn't been officially available since December 31, 2011 though one poster on this forum claimed he was taking the 201 version sometime this summer.

The book link you provided is for the 201 version which is available for free via the Kindle lending library (for Amazon Prime members) but it isn't the best source to study for the 301 version. If you want a free book, it's good. If you want a book on the current exam, you'd be better served getting a book on the 301 exam.

I'm not sure what videos you're referring to. I posted some videos on cryptography for the 201 exam that apply equally well to the 301 exam.
