Data Centre Network Diagram
I've got 3 reasonable size Data Centres to map out.
The first one had to be done down to the cable level, so had to be an eye-ball job to determine what kit was going to the 3 core 6509's so 1 could be decommissioned. Took about 2-3 weeks to do the 450-500 interfaces.
The other 2 DC's are remote...have reached 50 or so routers and switches at one DC (inc server blade switches) and still counting. Lets just say show cdp neighbours detail can be tedious. And this does not take into account non CDP capable devices from other vendors.
I know no tool will be a perfect solution, but I'm looking for any recommendations for tools to automate the process that are not too intrusive? Have considered ping sweeps on subnets, mapping via LAN Surveyor or even Cisco Network Assistant. Have yet to check on local policies to do this, want to see my options first.
