I ran a few calls recently and it looks like most jobs can't be done after hours. I don't have access to any of the PPNs yet (don't have much time), so I may be biased.

P.S. Going to upgrade an old Windows 2000 server to 2008 tomorrow :)

Do they allow you to perform the upgrade if you do not have a valid MCSA/MCITP:SA cert? How many years of experiences you have with them?

Yes, they do. The software is already installed on a hard drive, so I just need to reconfigure some stuff and install a few things.
This is my third project so far. The previous two were really easy, even though I had no experience working with POSs.

Pardon my ignorance but before I dwell too deep into this, I have a simple question.

I noticed a lot of work orders give very very very minimal detail, such as, "Computer won't boot". That's it. So lets say I accept that work order and I go over and I test the power supply, and see that it's dead. What next? Do I help the user order one? Am I supposed to have a supply of power supplies? Do I have to go back then on my own time?

Thanks for all the help and feedback everyone has given.

Edit: Well upon looking around more, I found the answer to my question. Laziness is always a bad thing icon_sad.gif

It depends on who the buyer is. If it is iYogi or the like, they have remoted in to remove viruses and botched up the OS. It is likely a nuke and pave at that point. HP will be a fast parts replacement but they have terms that are insane if you are going to follow them. If it is Comcast they just lowered their pay to flat fee. Definitely not my thing but others may be OK with it.
