WGU Network+/Security+
gunbunnysoulja
Hey guys, just curious if anyone knows if my CompTIA Network+/Security+ should transfer in to WGU, if they are N10-004 and SY0-201. I know WGU is now using N10-005 and SY0-301 so I wasn't sure how that works.
I got my transfer eval and it still shows CRV1 and CTV1 so I didn't know if I need to talk to my advisor.
The other classes I have left after my A.S. transfer for BSIT are:
BNC1
BOV1
TPV1
KET1
KFT1
CUV1
CJV1
I'm excited to start, and was hoping to knock this degree out in 1 term!
Thanks!

Wow I can't believe I didn't see that. Such a NOOB..
Do the transcripts typically show certifications that transfer? I want to make sure my Sec+/Net+ get applied before I start.
Thanks!!

Normally as long as they have been obtained within the last 5 years. Both of my A+ certifications transfered in and wiped out 2 classes for me.

Awesome, I was wondering the same thing but this helps

Does anyone know if it's possible for Technical Writing @ WGU to receive transfer, which appears to be one of the final classes to take in the program guide? I took Technical Writing before which was required for my 3rd year (it was a 3+1 program after A.S.), however I didn't see it transfer for the Technical Writing part. Would it be worth doing an appeal, or is WGU pretty accurate as to what does/should transfer?
Also, how long should I expect to wait to hear from my advisor? I have 3 e-mails over the past week and a half, and still haven't heard from him. I haven't officially started yet so I didn't know if that matters.

Technical Writing cannot be transferred in as it is your planned proposal for your capstone.
What do you mean advisor? If your mentor read next paragraph. If you mean your enrollment councilor call him and if he's not available talk to somebody else in the department with your questions.
If you mean your mentor, I think you are overreacting since it's only the 10th of the month and you have not officially started yet. I guess that means your start date is 9/1/12? When I started there was no contact from my get starting mentor until three days before I started although that was when EWB was completed within your term not before like it is now.

Keith, oops yes I meant Enrollment Counselor. I'll give a call, I just assumed they would reply via e-mail.

It's possible your EC missed your emails but most likely they don't have an answer / do not know. I would just give them a call and ask for them to point you in the proper direction.
