Architecture Certifications Question - TOGAF etc

Hi,

Im just wondering if anyone has had much dealings with Architecture qualifications? Im in a team of Architects and have heard stuff like TOGAF mentioned more than ever and that its a great qualification to have if you want to and/or establish your move into a design/architect role. From what ive seen it can lead to places such as a lead architect and enterprise architect levels. In the current global firm i work in, its a pretty big deal. From my perspective it appears to be a high level perspective rather than in depth technology.

Has anyone on the boards had experience of this or alternative qualifications? Feedback and views would be brilliant. Im thinking of going the CCDA/DP track to fill in on my design knowledge but were wondering what the comparisons would be compared to TOGAF (or an alternative) and the values between the two.
