Different size drives
Hi,
We are trying to image hard drives using drive duplicators (Specificly an Aleratec drive duplicator).
Occasionally we have hard drives with an OS and the drive is say 500gb. We want to copy it onto a drive that is 160gb. Less that a 100gb of the 500 is being used, but the duplicator as far as we know, cant do mismatched sizes from a higher size to a lower size. Any Ideas?

santaowns Member Posts: 366there are a few options out there, one is to image just what is being used. If i get time ill look into my research and see what it was that i used to copy some drives in the past.

WafflesAndRootbeer Member Posts: 555You either use cloning software to do the job or you have a hardware duplicator that automatically resizes as needed. Most hardware duplicators (the stuff you find via newegg and such) don't resize because they are low-end hardware but the professional-grade ones do have what you want.
