I am needing peoples opinions and personal experiences with Tablets as well as any recommendations Basically I am looking for something pretty standard, it needs to be able to play educational games (for my son), than it will be mainly used for surfing the internet and emails. I have a Kindle Fire for an ereader but the app market on that is less than stellar plus I prefer the 10'' screen. I also am looking for something non apple just to up my own knowledge of the android os. I have had two recommendations so far the Acer Iconia line or the Asus Transformer TF300, just wanted to see what others thoughts are. Thanks!

The tegra gpu can handle any game on the play store and makes the OS run heavenly smooth. The nexus being a Google device also will get all of the latest updates before any other tablet device. Trust me the 7in" screen feels just right for comfort and mobility. Lastly the price is unbeatable @ 199.99!

I've never used an iPad and I'm not the same type of user you are as far as requirements go. I'm happy with my Asus Transformer and Nexus 7, but I couldn't recommend them for kid apps because I've never tried.Currently reading:

I probably spent several nights checking out the Android marketplace for kids educational apps for my son and they are very amateur. Some are out there but for anything even remotely decent you will pay more for it. More competition on iOS so the prices are cheaper.
He likes the Discovery Channel Dinosaurs, a few Sesame Street and Disney apps. There is one particular series that does speech he likes. Another for building stuff out of blocks that you can race around a track or a train builder that actually lets you be the conductor.
He likes the Elmo apps the most and the Pixar ones. National Geographic has some cool stuff also. I tried looking for Android but found a few long abandoned apps, they all pretty much went to iOS.
