Configure fresh oob 2960 remotely
Vendor sent 2960 to wrong location. I need to connect it to a 2901 which I have full access to. Cable was connected between 2901 and 2960 but no config was done. Need to get access to 2960 to configure it. No tech savvy people on site. Remote site is halfway across the country. Thougts?

Sure, setup a GoToMeeting session and have a client on site install PuTTY and hook up included console cable from GoToMeeting laptop to 2960. May need a USB>Serial adapter depending on make/model of the machine. -

That's the first thing I thought of but there are no cables on site. I had to ship them one this morning. -

You can go router aux to switch console and reverse telnet to the console of the switch. Still need a cable in place to do it though.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.
