use of RD & RT in L2VPN
say I have two routers talking L2VPN & I wish to set up two PWs between them
could some kind soul explain to me the functional difference (I know the config difference) between configuring one PW in each of two routing-instances (ie RD's) vs. two PWs under a single RI/RD? I'm particularly interested in any scaling considerations (assuming we already have 'family route-target' configured under BGP)
also, whilst I dimly remember doing clever things with RTs in L3VPNs - hub-&-spoke setups for example - from my CCIP days, I'm struggling to see a similar application in L2VPN (except maybe in VPLS?) could someone point me to a configuration example if such an application exists?
many thanks
Andy

Aldur Member Posts: 1,460man, it's been forever since I've worked with L2 VPNs. I would definitely recommend taking a look at VPLS, kinda like L2 VPNs on steroids
Here's a link to get you started.
