Confused on the security front

So I am confused by the myriad of cisco courses out there. I know that there is the CCNA Security which is earned after the CCNA exam, and requires passing the IINS exam. but after that is the CCNP Security. I am slightly confused on what topics this exam covers and what exams are required to earn it. In addition, can someone explain all these security related courses im seeing? Im seeing IDS/IPS courses and ASA courses (there used to be an ASA specialist cert or something?) are they part of cert tracks or are they just extra technology courses?
Thank you.
Thank you.

SephStorm Member Posts: 1,731 ■■■■■■■□□□based on that information, the CCNP Security will get you the Firewall Specialist certification... lol I guess some people just figured they'd stop at 2?
EDIT: looks like that for most of them, CCNP Sec and the NAC will get you the whole set right?
