I started an internship at a local computer repair shop in MN. So far it’s been fun and very interesting as well. The shop owner is laid back, and he’s ok with me coming in when I have time. I work full time in printing, so it’s hard to dedicate all my hours to the internship. I really love fixing computers and interacting with the customers. He’s a one man show and I thought he would be moving to become a Manage Service Provider, but right now I’m looking at ways to help automate and speed up the computer repair process. This means helping him automate the computer repair process, finding tools , ect.
One tool we will be using is
WSUS Offline Update - Update Microsoft Windows and Office without an Internet connection
I need to play around with this tool on Tuesday….it looks fairly simple.
It can send updates to your computer, from The Microsoft servers, then you just save to a flash drive and it speeds up the install/update process.
I’m also looking at ways to document and make a check list for computer repair.
How long should I wait to put my internship experience on my resume?
My ultimate goal is to find a full time IT job.
