router 0 and router 1 are connected in an Ethernet via a switch. And another two hosts are in the same subnet in between. My question is which router should be used as the gateway of the router?
Or, no hosts should be added in the in-between ethernet at all?

You can add a switch to R0 or R1 ethernet 2 interface and add an IP, so you can use that ip as default gateway for the switch. You can connect those two router together without a switch. But make sure to use crossover cable.WGU classes: Transferred -> AGC1, CLC1, TBP1, CJC1, BVC1, C278, CRV1, IWC1, IWT1, C246, C247, C132, C164, INC1, C277. Appealed -> WFV1 and C393.
