On The Right Path??

Hello guys, long time lurker. Always been too nervous to post.
I am currently a student in Canada and am wondering if the program I am going to be enrolling in is the right choice so that I can get a job in the IT industry.
Here is a link to the program:
NSD @ The University of Winnipeg's pace.UWinnipegCourses.ca
I have searched google and the forums for information regarding post-secondary diplomas but it seems this is mainly a Canadian thing. I have come to the conclusion that diplomas are the closest equivalent to American associates degrees.
Do you think that I have a chance getting a job with just a Canadian diploma(associates), community college certificate and hopefully my CCNA/MCITP?

I have been also browsing the Dice forums and they seem to think that IT is a dying field.
Is this really the case?

Thanks in advance,

Michael
