SSCP certification
TE,
I have to be in DOD 8570 compliant. My shop has the option of getting either the CEH or the SSCP. Mostly everyone in my unit got the CEH and I am not sure if they were told the same thing I was about the options of choosing between the two. I am very interested in the SSCP because not only will this stand me out from everyone but it will show my leadership that I am willing to go the mile. Also, CEH has nothing to really do with my job but the SSCP does. I have both the Security+, and A+ certification, and I want to stay in security since my major is in that field also. They are going to send me a bootcamp which I heard it was really good, and then there are some VTE videos they my shop is giving me. Does anyone have any advice on this? Also, what study materials should I get and if Darril Gibson is reading this, what do you recommend, i.e. studying materials, videos, etc. Thanks.

YuckTheFankees Member Posts: 1,281 ■■■■■□□□□□I have not taken the test but from what I have heard, SSCP Systems Security Certified Practitioner All-in-One Exam Guide: Darril Gibson: 9780071771566: Amazon.com: Books is enough to pass. Good luck!

I haven't taken the SSCP either but I do agree with you that SSCP may a better fit based on your description. If you meet the requirements, most people will likely advise that you go for the CISSP. -
