Free (Or Cheap) OCR software?? Hard Copy to Word.
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knew of a free (or cheap) folder watch OCR software?
Basically we just want to be able to scan a hard copy document into a folder. Then have software recognise the text/images and turn it into an editable Word Document.
Quick background, I work for a recruitment company and a few people in the mining industry only have hard copy resumes. They come into the office and currently we can only scan to PDF. We need to have the ability to scan these into editable Word documents so we can pretty them up and save them.
I heave searched the internet but cannot find exactly what i am after.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Thanks for the quick response. We do have Acrobat8 installed on a terminal server but i have never used it for this capacity.
I am more looking for a folder watching application so documents are scanned into the folder and automatically OCR'd. Does Acrobat have this capacity or do you more need to open the document and then OCR it from a menu?
