I am studying for the 70-680 exam and I am struggling to memories all the switches for the dos based commands, like dism alone has like 20 switches. Do you need to know all the switches for all the dos commands or just the more common ones.
Thanks

ITMonkey Member Posts: 200Be familiar with the parameters/switches, at least to the point of 1) recognizing what they do, and 2) whether one given in an exam answer is valid or bogus. Parameter/switch ordering can be important, so be able to recognize that too.
Organizing them can be helpful. Take DISM for instance. There will be a /mount-image and /unmount-image. The VHD file referenced by both commands is specificed by the /image-file switch. The mount directory is referenced by the /mount-dir switch. The /index switch is important, as are the /commit and /discard when unmounting the vhd.
Take the same approach with -- and know the difference between -- the /add-package and /add-driver swtiches. There will be other commands your textbook will talk about... know those too.
Hey, could be worse ... you could be in Kyoto learning Japanese, getting through the first 20-40 Kanji characters, and realizing you had a thousand more to go to achieve a high school proficiency. -
