Thicknet/Thinnet and Cable Modems

Not really CCNA per se, but when studying, it says these networks were limited to 10Mbps.
Right now at home, on my cable modem (which I believe uses the same cables as thinnet), I'm getting 40Mbps.
Assuming the limitation was not in the cable? And if it wasn't, why didn't they get faster speeds?

zrockstar Member Posts: 378The cables are different a thinnet wire is a 50ohm cable whereas the one connecting to your house is 75ohm.
