Unexpected Verizon IPs found in xauth files
I had a somewhat unexpected discovery this evening and I couldn't quite figure out how it happened. I was wondering if I could pick some brains here on TE.
I use Verizon FIOS and some of you may be familiar that Verizon practices DNS redirection and 2 of their known IPs are - 8.15.7.117 and 63.251.179.13.
I was building a new Linux distro into a VM this evening and I wanted to get an xterm client from the new VM to connect on my desktop. So I opened up the .Xauthority file on my desktop with xauth. I was surprised to see 3 entries for Verizon IPs in my .Xauthority.
Anyone have any idea how that could have happened?
