Im wondering about whats the difference between putting a wism module in your 6500 or buying a separate wlc appliance 5508?
Wism
- economies of scale, easier management, more efficient inter controller roaming, and consistency of equipment in the data center
Controller
- you dont loose a free slot in your chassis

The WLC was probably the best thing we did to our Wireless. Has made managing our wireless infrastructure a breeze, but we had some rather unique design features with the wism that was greatly simplified with the WLC.
