Can VLANs utilize packet filtering to enhance network security? My inital guess would be NO, because this is a layer 2 device it only works with frames.
I believe the following are true in regards to VLANS?
- establish broadcast domains in switched networks
- all access to network services based on dept. not location
- can greatly simplify adding, moving, or changing hosts in a network
TIA

Your summarization of VLAN capabilities is also correct.
