Industry standards synonyms
Hi guys, taking both sections of the test in ~34 hours! Just found you guys a couple days ago, and I'm glad I did.
Thanks to all who have taken the time to make handy charts and important notes available to all.
I have a question regarding how the A+ may use the industry standard specification to name something (connector, etc.)
Is there a list of these, or can anyone name some that they think are relevent to A+.
For example
RS232=USB
IEEE1394=Firewire
IEEE1284=parallel printer cable
Any others you think I might see?

The other one you could add is i-Link. Sony's prefered way of saying FireWire.....A+, Network+, MCP, MSDST, MCITP:SA, HDI-SCA, MCTS, ITILv3 -

so rs232 is the spec for any serial?
What are other standards that I might need to know (not necessarily synonymous)
Of course theres 802.11
802.1X
ATA drives/transfer rates/PIO modes
for SCSI - (HighVoltage vs Lowvoltage) HVD and LVD -

I postponed the OS until monday.
I'm kind of at a loss as to how to study for the OS exam.
I don't have any experience with NT besides just logging in to the system. It's so rare to have to troubleshoot NT in the non-buisness environment. I'm trying to get a copy to play around with.
I'm going to che
ck out the OS forums, but does anyone else have tips on what to study for for the OS test? It seems like there is less stuff to memorize, and more just general know-how.
What are some things that should be memorized?
i know required boot files/order of the different OS's is needed. -
