Hey guys,
Mostly been lurking around this board - it's awesome! I've been absorbing a whole bunch of stuff - even used the resources here to get my A+. So, anyhow - I got my first *real* job in IT just a couple of days ago. I've been attending a community college, just about to graduate. I've been working in the college IT labs doing various things, like cable drops, system imaging, refurbishing units, configuring and servicing DCs, ect... but that really isn't much in the way of serious work, certianly nothing major on the line.
So, here's the new job. It's at a hospital's IT department. This hospital has like 10 locations around the city I live in and all of the IT work for those locations is serviced out of that location. It sounds like it's a hybrid of desktop support and helpdesk work. Also, there seems to be a great deal of project-work that will be needing to be done. When I last there it looked like the other "Analysts" were doing some hardware work with thin clients (maybe... not sure) while responding to trouble tickets. I'm not sure how I landed this job - they wanted a minimum of three years of experince... I'm feeling really nervous! I don't start until the end of this semester, does anyone have any good tips for me as I enter into this new role?
Thanks so much!

I see it often here in the Chicagoland area. They will ask for A+ or degree and substitute that for experience. Just depends on the gig.
Congrats OP and blessings on the journey.WGU BS - Network Operations and Security

I live in Maine's biggest city. I am about to graduate and receive my degree in this field, so I believe that was one of the factors they considered as well. Thanks for all the congrats and tips thusfar!
