Gap of 1 year..how bad is it?

I have a work experience of 5 years and after that since I had to move to a new country I had to resign from my first job.I have a gap of 1 year as it took me some 4 months to get a work permit and after then on I have been looking for a job as well as trying to do some certifications.How bad is this gap of 1 year if I have some certification like CCNA to my forte?

    It can definitely make things harder to find a job. But you have a reasonable explanation for your gap in employment. If you are confident and know how to sell yourself in an interview, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to recover from it.
