in Security+
Initial impressions - Darril Gibson's book is excellent (make sure you read the chapters) and Professor Messer is a great resource to nail the crypto end.
I was surprised by how many Network+ like questions were in the exam where they'd present a few routing commands and ask which answer would achieve the result the admin was looking for. Very surprised... several questions worded extremely lengthy with straight forward answers and others clearly designed to trick if skimmed over.
Finally... the tri-force is complete!

I have a harder time memorizing chipsets and processors than I do actual theoretical concepts like all the crypto and security protocols.Army OIF Vet - SysAd for the Air Guard - WGU BS-IT Software starting 2/1/2013

Appreciate it! I'm looking to take the leap to CISSP next. Picked up Eric Conrad's book last night for starters and plan to sneak in blocks of studying for the next 3-6 months while working towards my Bachelors. Speaking of which... looks like we're on the same boat at WGU (I had to steal your sig and make it my own). Best of luck achieving your goals! -

Ivanjam Member Posts: 978 ■■■■□□□□□□@itsgonnahappen - thanks for the encouragement! - feel free to borrow and modify the sig - I borrowed it from someone else too - I guess you can call it open source. Good luck with your studies at WGU too! Regarding the CISSP, Darril and others in the know recommend doing the SSCP as an intermediate step between the Sec+ and the CISSP, but then again I am not familiar with your background.Fall 2014: Start MA in Mathematics [X]
