As the title says what OS would be better for this ? I've read somewhere that windows strip vlan tags. Adapters that I'm using have ASIX AX88772A chipset.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if i were in your position i will choose windows 7 because it's easy to tethering but Linux is best for networking and monitoring,
