I've looked on Amazon, where I usually buy my materials, but from what I've read, the books have fairly poor reviews. Can anyone who has passed either the 685/686 exams recommend a book? I currently have the Portable Command Guide, which I've found quite insightful for the 70-680.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Amazon.com: Windows 7 Desktop Support and Administration: Real World Skills for MCITP Certification and Beyond (Exams 70-685 and 70-686) (9780470597095): Darril Gibson: Books
MS Press book is ok:
Amazon.com: MCITP Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-685): Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician (Pro - Certification) (9780735627093): Tony Northrup, J.C. Mackin: Books
Not sure if these will actually help you pass the exam but will increase your windows 7 knowledge.
The 70-685 is a bit of an animal to pass, so best of luck -

Appreciate the help. It's been fairly discouraging seeing people posting here after failing it 3+ times. -

It has been my experience that you find the same figures and illustrations in these articles as you find in the Microsoft exams. Also use the search engine to find articles or blogs written by the Microsoft developers themselves. Read questions coming from users, and the provided (best) answer.
You'll find technical details that you won't find in Microsoft Resource or Toolkit books in Technet. Learn how to use the advanced features within the Technet Print Function. Begin making your own PDF library and study material from it. -
