Viewing Advertised Routes

I may be overlooking this totally, but what's the best way to check what routes a router is actually advertising?
If I do a show ip route to view the routing table I can see directly connected routes, but does this mean they are actually being advertised from the router?
Thanks

I know that, but other than look through the config for the relevant commands router rip etc.. and the network x.x.x.x command, is there a command or way I can quickly view what is currently being advertised by the router?.
