I am looking at taking the VCP-510 exam and am looking on VMware's website and it is saying to take a course prior to the exam? Is this a requirement to be able to sign up for the exam or is it a recommendation? Thanks in advance!

You have to have both for the certification.CERTS: VCDX #110 / VCAP-DCA #500 (v5 & 4) / VCAP-DCD #10(v5 & 4) / VCP 5 & 4 / EMCISA / MCSE 2003 / MCTS: Vista / CCNA / CCENT / Security+ / Network+ / Project+ / CIW Database Design Specialist, Professional, Associate

Anyways, it is hosted on VMware ESX Server and managed through using vSphere. I would like to get a job (or at least have the option) working with HBSS when I get out of the Navy. I just thought since you use vSphere to manage HBSS, that a VMware cert would give me an edge. Also, a large amount of job postings that I have been looking at want VMware experience, so a cert would be a great way to validate that experience.A.S. - Computer Networking: Cisco
