70-640 Lab: one way communication between hosts?!!?
shakedkoffee
Hello guys,
as from title, I'm freaking out with this lab:
I have a 2008 server and a Win7 machine in VMware. I configured them in a host-only network environment, with fixed IP addresses. The 2k8 is a DNS server and a domain controller. The Win7 machine can ping the server thru IP and hostname, NOT the other way. The server can ping the gateway, but as said, not the Win7 machine. I'm freaking out, rebooted few times, can't figure it out.
Both VMs are attached to a the VMnet0 interface, which acts as a DHCP server.
I'm out of ideas, any suggestions pls? How can there be only one way communication? No routers blocking the connections, that's for sure..
Any help really appreciated, need to move thru the chapters without loosing motivation...

Firewall on the Win7 machine isn't allowing incoming ping requests.

Saurus, really appreciate it. Had no idea the inbound ping was disabled by default.
Thanks a bunch and have a nice evening.
