How do i connect a 2600 cisco router to my home DSL connection?
It has a T1 WIC card and i plugged the ethernet cable that goes from my modem to the T1 card. I also applied a default route to point to the gateway. It still doesn't work.

Iristheangel Mod Posts: 4,133 ModYou can't do it on the T1 WIC. From what I know, it only accepts RJ-48C connectors for T1 and the signalling for T1 is different. If you have a FastEthernet interface, you can connect it there or get a card with one.

sizeon Member Posts: 321So i can connect the patch cable to a 10/100 port on the router and just set the default gateway to 192.168.1.1? Also, i dont need to NAT right?

I have a Megapath DSL router hooked up to an ASA 5505 in some tiny office somewhere that's NATed on both the DSL and the ASA (Long story) so you can make it work. It just takes some configuration.

then you can learn how to set up DSL connections on Cisco and do away with you current home modem completely. Your not in the UK are you? might be able to send one if you are think i have a few laying around.- If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. Albert Einstein
