Guys,

I was looking at MCTS and interesting in taking exam number 432. If I take that exam and pass it, can I officially say I am MCTS certified? Or do I have to take the other two? See below or this link: MCTS Certification | Microsoft Learning

SQL Server

MCTS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance

448*

MCTS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development

433**

MCTS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance

432*

*This exam also counts towards the MCSA: SQL Server 2008 certification.
**This exam retires on July 31, 2013.

    Hi.

Yes, If you pass the exam you will get the MCTS you pass.

You don't need to pass all the exams to get the MCTS.

    See you!

As AnFgar said, you only need to pass one test to be considered MCTS. This is basically the new MCP title. In order to gain a MCITP, you have to pass all associated tests.

MCTS is not the equivalent of MCP, per se. MCP is a certification in and of itself which simply indicates you've passed one of a large number of possible exams.

MCTS is a prefix which represents an exam "level", if you will, and each MCTS certification's full title includes the prefix MCTS. Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist is not a certification or title on its own. As with the new MCSE, the new MCSA, it is a prefix used for certifications. Again, this is different from MCP, which is a title in and of itself.

As far as the question, if you pass any of the exams listed, you get the certification listed. Pass 443 and you are an MCTS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development, and you would want to list it on your resume as that. You would not list MCTS or Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist on your resume on its own.
