I've read over stub routing in the OCG the other day, but didn't really get my head around it. I was going to ask, but I don't like asking silly questions, so I googled.
If anyone finds it useful, I found a post on the internet which helped me to understand it:

It doesn't really say anything more than the OCG, but for some reason the way it is put there helped it sink in.
Now to go play with it in the lab!
