Technically the number isn't ported over until you receive the new phone and activate it. Unless the carrier you moved to is useless and did it wrong.

She would never do this without telling me first. That's amazing that she doesn't think you should know about that sort of thing beforehand.

She mentioned that she had no idea they would port it over. I'm thinking wellllllllll you purchased a phone from another provider and provided my phone number. What would you think would happen.

    Ugh.

Are there programs out there to transfer contacts from the iphone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy 3?

Wait, they ported over the number without asking? I wouldn't be mad at my wife. No, I would be having a strongly worded conversation with the new provider.

If it's one of the top US providers (AT&T, Verizon, etc) you should be able to take your phone into one of their shops, they'll gladly transfer over everything.

    FYI Sprint blows

Their customer service is awful and that is putting it nicely. I would gladly pay the extra 30 - 40 a month to work with Verizon - AT&T reps.

Yeah I swore off sprint years ago for the same reason...they're absolutely horrible.

It took me a good 2 - 3 months to get my wife to port her number as she was on a very bad pre-paid plan and was trying to convince her that it was better with another company and a better plan.

My wife usually gets the idea and then either says not to worry about it, or tells me that it's going ahead but I have to sort it out.
    Annoying but also smart.
