    A benefit to doing this is that foreign workers are able to move anywhere in the USA where a job might be. Many Americans--including myself--are limited to looking for jobs fairly close to where we live. I just can't pack up and move my family to another state (or country) just to get a new job.

    One note: small companies really shy away from foreign workers that make their HR paperwork difficult. Even if you have an H1-B visa, you will find most small companies just do not want to deal with the extra details in handling non-naturalized workers. Therefore, you'll have a higher probability finding a job with larger businesses and corporations.
