Rentrack with ASA 8.3/8.4 or 9

Hi,

I don't know if this forum will be the right one. I think it's better then 'general'. So to the point.

I wan't to teach myself the new asa software. I've already tried to run 8.4(2) on Qemu on Win7 with VirtualBox and... generally yes it works but the pings between interfaces of Virtualbox hosts about 1000ms icon_cry.gif I just cannot make a RDP connection throught asa.
Maybe on Linux it is running better I didn't tried it yet.

I'm looking for a cheap rent rack or a store to buy/rent one o two ASA with new soft. Can you point to something good?

I believe Gigavelocity was supposed to release CCIE Sec V4 racks on Feb 1st. I can't get to their site right now but you can try to check there.

Thank you, yes they have 8.4. Did you tried Gigavelocity?

I have not, but always have heard great things about them.

You might as well pick up some v8.4 capable ASA5505s from ebay for around 200-250 bucks USD, the only thing you can't practice is the virtual context stuff (and you can do all that with your virtualised setup)

That's what I did. I've effectively put an ASA5505 in my production network to learn with and for the stuff I can't do with one - I'll just use GNS
