ASA WebVPN Editing Version confusion

Can anybody help me understand where the version of the WEB based SSL VPN is stored or what defines the version.
I have an ASA at one site, if I click on Customization, IE opens up and I can edit the pages that way,
on another site, If i go to edit the pages, ASDM opens up a dialog box with the options instead of IE.
Does anybody know what I mean here? Its totally not important but its driving me mad! thanks
