Where is the admin account in Windows 7?
brownwrap
I have a laptop with Windows 7 on it. I am the only user on it. I went into the control panel and found my account, it says administrator, yet I am getting permission denied at trying to look at some logs. I don't even see a means of adding an administrator account. I read somewhere else, admin was disable by default, how do I enable it? Thanks

Edit Local Users and Groups > Add Password for the Administrator account then enable it. Or as YFZblu said just run as admin a program or feature which you want.

OK, got it. If you can then run it as admin, what is the point? Thanks.

Just an additional layer of security. Logging in as root/administrator isn't generally not a good idea.
